 System III
 
Use this system to set up Daylight Savings time, so the units automatically adjust their time accordingly. 
 
  • From the main menu, click Database.Click Database Management. Click Daylight Savings Setup.
  • Keyscan recommends you click on the Default Button, which sets dates to the standard for most of North America. WARNING, this software predates the 2006 change in Daylight Savings Time. The "standard" dates used by System III software no longer match those used across most of North America.
  • You should set the dates manually since the DST rules have made the Default Button option generally incorrect. Please note the system will only be accurate for a year in advance. You will need to update the dates every new year. See our Daylight Savings Time Changes main page for details on the rules and dates currently in use across North America.
  • Click OK to accept changes and return to the Database Update menu.
  • Once you have accepted the changes in the System III software, you must upload the database so the access control system uses the correct dates. From the main menu, click Database then click Update Database Changes to upload all changes to the panel.
 
System V
 
Use this system to set up Daylight Savings time, so the units automatically adjust their time accordingly. 
 
  • From the main menu, click System Settings.Click Daylight Savings.
  • Keyscan recommends you click on the Default Button, which sets dates to the standard for most of North America. WARNING, this software predates the 2006 change in Daylight Savings Time. The "standard" dates used by System V software no longer match those used across most of North America.

  • Select the Year in the Spring Forward field, then select the appropriate year by clicking the arrow buttons.
  • Select the Month in the Spring Forward field, then select the appropriate month by clicking the arrow buttons.
  • Select the Day in the Spring Forward field, then select the appropriate day by clicking the arrow buttons.
  • Repeat the above entries for the Fall Back field.
  • Click on the Save and Exit button.
  • Once you have accepted the changes in the System V software, you must upload the database so the access control system uses the correct dates. From the main screen, click the Quick Buttons menu then click Update Changes to upload all changes to the panel.
  • Click on the down arrow of Unit Selection and select the access control unit. If more than one ACU is to be uploaded, select All Units.
  • From the Upload Type window, select the appropriate items to be updated. Items that have changed since the last time the ACUs were uploaded are listed in red and preselected. Below the Upload Type window, a status caption informs you how many items require uploading.
  • Select the Upload button. Wait for the message in the black box indicating the access control panels have been updated.
  • Select the Exit button.
 
System VII
 
Use this system to set up Daylight Savings time, so the units automatically adjust their time accordingly. 
 
  • From the main menu, click System Settings.Click Daylight Savings.
  • System VII calculates Daylight Savings dates on a year-by-year basis, so the system need only be set up once. We recommend checking the settings once a year however, to be sure the settings are accurate. See our Daylight Savings Time Changes main page for details on the rules and dates currently in use across North America.
  • Under Daylight Savings Begins, select the month in which Daylight Savings begins from the rightmost box.
  • Select the day of the week in which Daylight Savings begins from the middle box. This is generally a Sunday.
  • Select the week in which Daylight Savings begins from the leftmost box. I.E. if DST starts the second Sunday, select Second.
  • Repeat the above entries for Standard Time (the date we will Fall Back).
  • Click on the Calculate Dates button and check the listed dates in the Spring Forward and Fall Behind boxes.
  • Click on the Save and Exit button.
  • Once you have accepted the changes in the System VII software, you must upload the database so the access control system uses the correct dates. From the main screen, click the Quick Buttons menu then click Update Changes to upload all changes to the panel.
  • Click on the down arrow of Unit Selection and select the access control unit. If more than one ACU is to be uploaded, select All Units.
  • From the Upload Type window, select the appropriate items to be updated. Items that have changed since the last time the ACUs were uploaded are listed in red and preselected. Below the Upload Type window, a status caption informs you how many items require uploading.
